Arthur Koestler, a Khazar Jew, was born in Hungary in 1905.

However, Koestler became an anti-Zionist.
In The Thirteenth Tribe (1976), Koestler put forward the idea that Ashkenazi Jews are not descended from the Jews of the bible, but from the Khazars, a Turkic people in the Caucasus who converted to Judaism in the 8th century and were later forced westward into present-day Russia, Ukraine and Poland.
According to Koestler 95% of all Jews in the world are descended from Eurasian Khazar converts to Judaism.

During World war II, Koestler escaped from France to Britain., where, at first, he was locked up and interrogated by MI5.

In 1960, at the University of Michigan, he was involved in some experimental research with hallucinogens. Later, at Harvard, he took part in further experiments with drugs.
Koestler was interested in the paranormal.
He wrote "The Roots of Coincidence" (1972).
