1. El Salvador police suspect Jorge Aaron Puello of leading a child trafficking ring in the Caribbean and Central America.

Puello is the legal adviser for the detained Baptists in Haiti, who are led by Laura Silsby.

Reportedly, the police found documents connected to the Sephardic Jewish community in a house in San Salvador where the traffickers had held women.

2. The Jewish organisation Chabad has centres in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, and Chabad has been active in Haiti.

Three days after the Haiti earthquake, Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi Shimon Pelman, the Israeli-born director of Chabad-Lubavitch of the Dominican Republic, was in Port-au-Prince, compiling requests from members of the Israel Defense Force’s Home Front Command that had arrived in Haiti.
