A group of mysterious, black-clad men fired assault rifles and possibly grenade launchers during Bangkok's clash on 10 April 2010, which left 24 people dead. (Finding "Terrorists" in the Thai "Banana Republic" )

The black clad 'ninjas' may have killed people on both sides.

Is the CIA stirring up riots in Bangkok in Thailand?

Richard Lloyd Parry wrote about the riots in Jakarta, in May 1998, which led to the fall of Suharto.

On 15 April 2010, Richard Lloyd Parry wrote that a mystery endures over who fired the grenade that devastated Thailand's army command.

The Jakarta rioting of May 1998 started after four students from Trisakti University were shot dead by mysterious gunmen.

FRANCE 24's Cyril Payen reported on the Thai riots: "we have seen at least six civilians killed by bullets shot squarely in the middle of their foreheads.

"This is the mark of an elite shooter...

"And as for the injuries themselves, they seem to have been caused by high-power rifles, a weapon rarely found except with certain special military forces." (Behind the scenes of FRANCE 24's exclusive report)

On 15 March 2010, four hand grenades exploded at Bangkok's main army base.

The military said that the protesters were not responsible for the attacks which were carried out by unidentified gunmen.

Around 1 April 2010, unknown assailants fired two grenades at an army base in northern Bangkok.

On 8 April 2010, another grenade was fired into the army headquarters.

In the May 1998 riots in Jakarta, it was elements of the American-trained Indonesian army who organised the rioters. (aangirfan: SUHARTO )
