He escaped a 20-year sex trafficking sentence.

Around 20 February 2011, photographs appeared which showed Prince Andrew with Jeffrey Epstein.

Virginia Roberts, who was at the centre of the Epstein case, has revealed to The Mail on Sunday that, while employed by Epstein, she was flown across the world to be introduced to Prince Andrew.

2. Andrew is friends with Epstein and with Epstein’s confidante Ghislaine Maxwell, daughter of (Mossad agent) Robert Maxwell.

Epstein's friends have included Woody Allen, Bill Clinton and Donald Trump.

3. Virginia Roberts was 15 years old when she got to know Epstein in 1998.

She alleges that her duties included being "sexually exploited by Epstein's adult male peers including royalty".

4. Virginia Roberts, who now lives in Australia, was born in Sacramento, California, in 1983.

She was sexually molested by 'a man close to her family'.

Aged 11, she was sent to live with an aunt.

Three years later, she started a new life with her father, in Palm Beach, Florida.

Her father was maintenance manager at Donald Trump’s country club, Mar-a-Lago.

5. Aged 15, she met Ghislaine Maxwell, who arranged for her to work as Epstein’s masseuse.

Her father drove her to Epstein's Palm Beach mansion.

Epstein also owns a nine-storey home in New York, a 7,500-acre ranch in New Mexico and an atoll in the US Virgin Islands.

Virginia worked for Epstein for four years.

For three of those years, she was under Florida's age of consent.

6. "Basically, I was training to be a prostitute for him and his friends who shared his interest in young girls," she says.

"The way it usually worked was I’d be sent to meet a man on the private island Jeffrey owned in the Caribbean, or at his ranch in New Mexico, which was really isolated...

General Sarath Fonseka to make a special statement regarding ‘white flag’ case

Imprisoned former Oppostion Common Candidate ( 2010 ) & the former Army Chief , General Sarath Fonseka is to make a special statement in connection with the ‘white flag’ case filed against him in courts.


Lawyer appearing for him in courts, Nalin Ladduwahetti informed the Colombo High Court about his intention on 28th Feb. As a result, The 3 bench ordered that the submissions be made on March 09.


The list of witnesses of the defendants in the case will be submitted to the court shortly, said Nalin Ladduwahetti. 


As he was leaving the court after the hearing, General Sarath Fonseka told the media that the Rajapaksa's were making only Hambantota area the Miracle of Asia, while sending the rest of the country to the era of the Veddahs. A handful lives in extreme luxury, while the others have to eke out a living, he said.




General Fonseka was one of the main key figures for the victory over terrorists. He was attacked by a suicide bomber at the army head quarters which he survived miraculosly.

The senior cricketers were expected to meet the president on Feb 28 to lodge their complaint, but could not do so as he was on a visit to Anuradhapura.

Central Bank Governor Kabral refuse to accept complaints against CIFL Finance and Asset Company !

A large number of complaints made against the owner of CIFL Finance and Asset Company, Chulaka Gunawardena also known as Deepthi Perera have been refused to accept by Central bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal, according to a senior Central Bank official.


He made this statement in response to a question posed by us as to why legal action has not been instituted against CIFL Finance and Asset Company and its owner Deepthi Perera as he has failed to pay interest for the monies collected from 3,761 depositors since 2006.


The official said that even Finance Ministry Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundera has not shown 
any interest to take action against Deepthi Perera, as he is a close friend of the Central bank Governor Cabraal and also claims to have a close friendship with Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.


A JVP parliamentarian when questioned about this situation said that a question will be posed to the government at the next parliamentary session.

2. "Some Egyptians are beginning to wish that their own revolution had never happened."

3. "Shaban doesn't know how he is going to find money to feed his children dinner.

"Since the revolution started, he has not had a job."

Shaban wasn't involved in Egypt's protests.

4. In Shaban's town of al-Maraziq, building projects are halted and business ventures have been disrupted.

A mechanic in al-Maraziq says that business has declined.

He now pays more for paints and spare parts.

His 11-year-old nephew now misses going to school.

5. Umm Karim says: "I wish the revolution never happened."

Five tourist hotels have been attacked in Cairo.

According to the manager, 'about 1,000 young guys' attacked Cairo's Europa Hotel on 15 February 2011.

WND reported that the Egyptian Islamist terrorist organization Jamaat al Islamiya (Al-Gama'a al-Islamiyya) , 'founded by the Muslim Brotherhood', and 'armed by Hamas', is re-establishing itself.

In 1996, Al-Gama'a al-Islamiyya reportedly carried out a shooting rampage at the Europa Hotel in Cairo, killing 18 Greek tourists.

In 1997, it reportedly carried out the Luxor massacre, killing 58 foreign tourists. (Muslim group.)

On 19 February 2011, the Financial Times reported that these February 2011 hotel attacks raise Islamist fears‎

"Over the past three weeks", a series of attacks have "targeted the Gandool, the Ramses, the Europa, the Arizona and the Andalous."

The manager of the Europa Hotel suggested that his hotel was smashed up by Islamists.

A policeman standing near the Gandool said the attackers were 'the ones with the beards'.

Two people died in the firebombing of the Ramses.

Permission to commence a cable TV network is being sought by a person known as  Sudesh, who operates a private hospital in colombo.


The minister had asked for the bribe to get permission for the cable TV to operate in the Kotahena and Negombo areas.

Attorney said the situation has got worse as the failure to implement the electoral system that was proposed in the 18th Amendment.


Although it was proposed in the 18th Amendment to amend the entire electoral system along with the local government elections, there were doubts over its effectiveness since the political motives behind its implementation were not beneficial to the people, Weliamuna said.


He further said the administration in office at the time of election gets the power to use the facilities of state resources during election time and to challenge the electoral system through it. 


Therefore, the holding of a free and fair election was not possible at all.


According to Weliamuna when the public service and the three armed forces are politicized, a party could use them even to fulfill their petty political needs.

The New York Times (a path for Egypt) reports on the 2010 national congress of Indonesia's Prosperous Justice Party, which is linked to Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood.

The congress was held at the Ritz Carlton's ballroom in Jakarta.

Among the keynote speakers was Cameron Hume, then the U.S. ambassador to Indonesia, who praised the party, known as the PKS.

According to the New York Times: "Following the 1998 overthrow of the dictator Suharto, Indonesia looked a lot like Egypt now."

Indonesia's Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) wants the Koran to form the basis of law.

The PKS in 2009 got less than 8% of the vote but got four seats in the cabinet of President Yudhoyono, a US trained general.

The PKS was a key force behind Indonesia's 2008 anti-pornography law.

C. Holland Taylor, the Jakarta-based chairman of LibForAll Foundation, which promotes moderate Islam worldwide, says the PKS has been a key factor in the rise of a more austere, intolerant form of Islam in Indonesia.

After two separate attacks in February 2011 by Muslim mobs, in which people were killed and churches torched, a number of PKS leaders said the attackers had been 'provoked' by acts of blasphemy.

It has become a situation where the people are going nuts. “Earlier, gold or money were the items that were stolen in this country. But today with the power of the Chinthanaya, potatoes, dhal, sugar and milk powder have become the most stolen items. “The bouncer called the Cost of Living is coming down like a thunderbolt towards the masses and they are struggling to save the wicket known as hunger,” said by him.

Do not Buy Refurbished or used Laptops Sold with less than 1 year warranty in Sri Lanka

According to a research done by a group of IT experts, they say 9/10 second  refurbished (though they say refurbished, they are not refurbished by the company manufactured) or used laptops sold in Sri Lanka with less than 1 year waranty are causing many troubles for the users.


Normally the cost of these used laptops range from Rs. 10,000 upto Rs. 60,000. Their is a place in Dehiwala called Lankalaptopshouse, which gives only 30day warannty which means after that time you will face severe problems. It's not the only place but their are so many palces that sell laptops with poor quality. So please avoid those places.


Problems you will face ;


1. Display goes off after a month or two suddenly as inverter gets burnt (this is very costly if this has to be replaced)


2. Battery cannot hold power


3. Certain keys in the keyboard are not functioning (Sometimes you will notice this only after 30 days warranty is over )


4. Hard Disk Issues when data is copying


5. CD / DVD ROM/RW  sometimes reading but most of the time not


6. Power adapter is unable to provide adequate power to the ystem to function smoothly


7. Not working after restarting / shutdown ( then restart ) most of the time, need to keep it off for 4-5 hours to work again.


8 Difficult to find assoceries for the laptop as most of these laptops are rare on the market (as their had being issues with these types of laptops)


and many more issues...


Also if you contact / Visit them for technical support, it will be the worst technical support that you will get. Also you will notice how rudly they will speak to you if you go with a fault (which they should repair) during/ after the warranty period (though they would talk to you very nicely in a friendly way when you are their to buy a product !)


Finally the research group,  if you really want a laptop... Go for a branded brandnew laptop (If it's too costly, you can go for instalment wise payment) with at least 3 years warannty or go for a factory refurbished (refurbished by the manufatured company & certified by them) laptop with 1-3 years warannty

Maharaja Group take over ISURA FM (93.6 Colombo) !

Maharaja Group had taken over ISURA FM (93.6 Colombo), earlier this was run by Ruras Entertainment, the owner of it was MP Tiran Allas from DNA.


The new programmes will be supervised by veteran journalist of Sirasa TV Kigsly Rathnayake and according to Maharaja Group, they are planning to serve this channel in a different way to that of Sirasa Radio Channel


But anyway this is not a big story, though we have put this up here... if you have some cach getting a licesne for a radio channel is not that expensive as purchasing a TV channel license

Gaddafi rivals close in on Tripoli !

Areas near capital fall to protesters amid fears that forces loyal to Libyan Dictator Gaddafi could launch counter-attack which could lead to a genocide. 13 days so far since the beginning of the uprise.


Libya's opposition movement has seized control of territory close to the capital, Tripoli, as anti-government protesters gear up for what could be a final battle for leader Muammar Gaddafi's stronghold.






Three areas in the east were reported to be under the control of protesters on Monday, a day after pro-democracy demonstrators took control of the city of Az-Zawiyah, just 50km west of Tripoli.Men opposed to Gaddafi patrolled the streets of Az-Zawiyah, saying they had seized weapons and even tanks which they would use to defend themselves.


But they were also bracing themselves for a potential showdown with forces loyal to Gaddafi, who have reportedly surrounded the city.Ezeldina, a Zawiyah resident had told that people in the city had raided  military camps to prepare for a potential raid by government forces. "We are expecting an attack at any moment," he said. "We are forming rotating watch groups, guarding the neighbourhood."





Pro-Gaddafi rallies


Government forces manned several checkpoints between Az-Zawiyah and the capital, and supporters of the Libyan leader demonstrated in the Harsha district, 5km from the centre of Zawiyah.


Government loyalists also took to the streets just outside the capital, waving posters and chanting slogans.


The rallies appeared to be evidence that Gaddafi had not lost complete control of the capital.


Ibrahim Sharquieh, deputy director of the Brookings Doha Centre, said the battle between pro- and anti-Gaddafi forces for Tripoli is not likely to be won immediately.


"We know that [Gaddafi] is in the Bab al-Aziziya area [of Tripoli] and Bab al-Aziziya seems to be very secure. He has his militia around him and they are doing a good job protecting him," Sharquieh told Al Jazeera.


"He has even made some attacks outside the Bab al-Aziziya area.


Canadian and British prime ministers urging the Libyan leader to leave too !


Meanwhile, the calls for Gaddafi to step down multiplied, with the Canadian and British prime ministers urging the Libyan leader to leave.




Their calls come as the US secretary of state prepares for crisis talks in Switzerland. Hillary Clinton is due to meet other foreign ministers on the sidelines of a UN human rights meeting in Geneva on Monday.


Speaking ahead of the meeting, Clinton called for an end to the bloodshed in Libya.


"First we have to see the end of his regime and with no further bloodshed,"  she said, adding that Washington is eager for his ouster "as soon as possible".


"We want him to leave."


Clinton also said that Washington was "reaching out" to opposition groups, prepared to offer "any kind of assistance" to Libyans seeking to overthrow the regime.


However, opponents of Gaddafi forming a National Libyan Council in the east said they did not want any foreign intervention in the country.


"We can comfortably say that he is still in control in Tripoli. Although there is some resistance in some areas I don't think we can talk about the city falling today or tomorrow."

We Will organize a Libya type protests - Says Vijitha Herath

It is the responsibility of the political parties to organize a people’s struggle similar to other countries like Libya. The JVP will undertake this responsibility on behalf of the masses, JVP Propaganda Secretary Vijitha Herath said today in a press conference.


Most political analyst point out that if JVP can get the support of UNP & other minor parties for such a protest, it will be not imposible to do like what happend in Egypt & Tunisia, while in progress in Libya.


Currently the Country is ruled by President Percy Mahinda & his UPFA Coalition.   

Mahela & Thilan was Engaged in Match Fixing ! - Accuses "Vimasuma" - ITN Post News Programme

"Vimasuma programmme " (on 27th) by Presidential Advisor Mahinda Abesundra (Script Writer )  accused both Mahela and Thilan for involving in match fixing which resulted in Sri Lanka loosing to Pakistan. 


But the Sri Lankan cricket analysts says this is one of the biggest horrible thing to do & only a traitor could do such a thing. Also they were saying that this could affect the mentallity of the players to a greater extent while our players will have a risk of facing match fixing charges internationally.


Who is this Mahinda Abesundara ?





He was a very loyal person to then President Chandrika (CBK) and he did a post ITN News programme called as "Viparamma" where his job was to sling mud at UNP and it's leader Ranil Wickramasinghe during that time. When Percy Mahinda became president, he was offered the main editor's post in "Dinaminna" Goverment Sinhala Weekly news paper while he changed the name of Viparamma to Vimasumma and was continuing his mud sliging job against oppostion parties (but now against cricket heroes). 

UNP UK Supporters Urge Ranil to leave like a gentlemen

The UNP party members residing in Britain, urged opposition leader Ranil Wickramasinghe to leave like a gentlemen without further destroying the party.


They further said that, though we are not well satisfied with the way the emerging young UNP leader from Hambanthotta is working, their is no other option other than him who can bring UNP to power. 


Under Ranil Wickramasinghe, UNP had lost 2 Presidential Elections (99 to CBK, 2005 to MR), General Elections (2000, 2004, 2010), Several Provincial Councils & Local Goverments. A party which had over 45,000,000 votes not have lost over 15,000,000 of it 


but he was able to make the economy stable & reduce Government debt while he was the Prime Minister from 2001-2003.  

Pillayan says - If ITAK Wins Eastern Province, he will bid farewell from his political career !

Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan ( former LTTE member) says that if the Illankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) contests the election for the Eastern Province on its own and wins he will bid farewell from his political career.


Speaking during the opening ceremony of a new bus stand in Batticaloa the Pillayan mentioned that the only party working together with the central government is his party.
The only way to gain power for the development of the Eastern Province is to join hands with Mahinda Rajapakse, said Pillayan.


He further emphasized that the public opinion may change if engaged in politics that creates agitation within the people.


Anyway he is responsbile for death of many inonnocent muslims & sinhalease in those areas while he was serving barberic LTTE but yet no action taken against him or  Karunna.
