On 6 October 2010, we read that Amir Ali is accused of booking a flight to Pakistan.
Amir Ali has a house in Karachi, and the house reportedly needs extensive repairs.
When his home was raided, police allegedly found recordings of lectures by an extremist Islamic preacher.
Amir Ali is a Moslem. And, evidence can be planted. (CIA Involvement: Police chief: Lockerbie evidence was faked)
Amir Ali is also said to have bought supplies, including a self-inflating pillow, a sleeping bag and a pair of waterproof trousers.
Police allegedly discovered a note Ali wrote to his wife.
In this note Ali "asked for his wife's forgiveness and wrote that he would see her soon in this life or the thereafter."
Karachi is a dangerous place. (Karachi violence takes ominous turn )
Amir Ali is accused of plotting holy war in Afghanistan.
But he claims he was framed by the British security services after he repeatedly refused to work for MI5.
According to Ali's lawyer, Lawrence McNulty, "The security services embarked on a strategy to tear the whole of Mr Ali's life apart.
"Despite all that, Mr Ali would not change his mind.
"We suggest that these court proceedings are the final part in the strategy."
Ali said he was approached by the security services at Heathrow in June 2007 just before boarding a flight to Pakistan, with his wheelchair-bound grandmother.
The officers confiscated £6,500 that Ali said he was given by his father for the trip and to pay for repair work to a house in Karachi.
According to Ali, "They said they were going to stop me from going to Pakistan.
"They said: 'This doesn't have to happen if you work for us'."

Siddique
The Daily Record, on 10 February 2010, tells us about the Scot freed after his terror sentence was quashed. (Scot freed after his terror sentence was quashed. )
Mohammed Atif Siddique, 24, looked at stuff on the internet.
He was convicted of being a terrorist, but later freed, after an appeal.
He insisted: "I'm hardly a terrorist. I'm more of a numpty!
"I admit to being a stupid loudmouth but I never planned to hurt, let alone kill anyone anywhere.
"I was nothing more than a daft boy.
"At the time, I was interested in what was happening in the Middle East, and I accessed a lot of information from the internet.
"The stuff I had in my possession was freely and easily available.
"It was said in court that I was a 'wannabe suicide bomber'. That shocked me to the core because I also said I'd met Osama bin Laden - and nobody seriously believed that unless he was hiding out in the Ochil Hills!
"If I was al-Qaeda, how come I stayed at home for seven days after the police arrested me? I used to go to the police station to ask for my laptop back.
"I could not understand why I had been prosecuted. I was naive, and I did not understand the consequences of downloading from the internet.
"I didn't realise that it was wrong - controversial, yes, but not illegal. It wasn't as if it was comparable to child pornography."
