In Turkey, in September 2010, Hanefi Avcı, a former police chief, was arrested due to his links to a 2009 act of terrorism in Istanbul. (Avcı wiretap records raise questions about shadowy links )



Found in Avci's home were audio clips of phone conversations featuring former Turkish intelligence asset Tuncay Güney, mafia boss Sedat Peker, drug lord Drej Ali, famous transsexual Seyhan Soylu (also known as Sisi) and retired General Veli Küçük.

Transsexual Sisi, allegedly involved in a plot to undermine top people. In 1996 Müslüm Gündüz, leader of a Moslem sect, was arrested by police in an İstanbul house where he was found in bed with a 22-year-old female student, Fadime Şahin. Ümit Oğuztan, an author of pornographic books and former editor-in-chief of the Strategy monthly, famous transsexual Seyhan Soylu (known as Sisi) and Police Chief Ümit Bavbek secretly met at the office of the Strategy magazine to write the “script” and talk about its details. Şahin, working as a call girl at an entertainment facility, was hired for a large sum of money. Gaza Convoy attacked on 31 May 2010



On 31 May 2010, there was a rocket attack on a naval base, in İskenderun, in Turkey; seven people were killed.



On the same day, 31 May 2010, Israeli soldiers killed a number of Turks on the Gaza aid convoy.



There is a renewed suspicion of Israel's role in the İskenderun attack

Reportedly, the CIA, Mossad and elements of the Turkish military want to topple Turkey's Prime Minister Erdogan, because he is not sufficiently pro-Israel and pro-USA. Erdogan is a moderate, but he has criticised Israel.

Mossad has been active in Turkey.



According to a report in The Jerusalem Post, intelligence cooperation between the Mossad and the Turkish security service, MIT, "was enshrined in a 12-clause agreement that was signed during a 1993 visit to Israel by then-Turkish foreign minister Hikmat Chetin".

The British Consul General Roger Short, was killed by the bomb as he was entering the consulate building. Press reports confirmed that he had cancelled an appointment at the last minute and "if he had gone to his appointment, he would have been alive"

As a result, according to Ercan Gun, Turkish intelligence specialists now believe:

Istanbul suicide blast

A suicide bomb ripped through crowds of shoppers and cafe-goers in the heart of Istanbul on Sunday, injuring 32 people as a ceasefire by the separatist PKK came to an end. The blast targetted riot police patrolling the busy Taksim Square in the centre of Turkey's economic capital, police chief Huseyin Capkin said. "We think it was a suicide attack," he said, adding that the bomb had gone off before the bomber reached his target. "He tried to get into a police bus but didn't succeed," he said. Istanbul governor Huseyin Avni Mutlu told reporters 32 people had been injured in the blast, 17 civilians and 15 police officers. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned what he called a "terrorist" attack during a tour of majority-Kurd southeastern Turkey. "We will not tolerate anybody attacking the peace, stability and security of Turkey," Erdogan said during a trip to the city of Mardin. No group claimed responsibility for the attack, and Interior Minister Besir Atalay said it was too early to say who was behind it. But analysts quoted by television stations pointed to the likely involvement of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), whose unilateral ceasefire declared on August 13 was due to end on Sunday. The rebel movement and extreme left-wing groups have carried out bomb attacks in the past in Istanbul, home to more than 12 million inhabitants.

Mail bombs

A woman has been arrested in the Yemeni capital on suspicion that she was involved in sending two explosive devices found on cargo planes bound for the United States, the president of Yemen said Saturday. Security officials went to a house in Sanaa, the Yemeni capital, to arrest the woman a day after the plan was thwarted on Friday, President Ali Abdullah Saleh said. He told reporters the United States and the United Arab Emirates provided him with information that identified the woman as a suspect. Yemeni security officials said the woman was detained as authorities search for a number of suspects believed to have used forged documents and ID cards that played a role in the plot. Dubai police confiscated a suspicious package aboard a U.S.-bound FedEx plane. Hi, it's ET back again. I have taken a closer look and realized that it is not just a matter of design and colour. It is also a matter of colour TONE. I can see three different blue colour tones and two different red tones. Which means that the designs are in pairs of equal designs with opposite colours of same tone, and opposite designs of equal colour and colour tone. In short the journal is right. ET

"Direct threat" Obama made the telephone call to Zardari

Ahead of his India visit, US president Barack Obama spoke to his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari and discussed steps to address the "direct threat" posed by terrorist groups based in Pakistan. Obama made the telephone call to Zardari on Tuesday , during which the two leaders agreed that more needs to be done to address the threat posed by terrorists in Pakistan. The US president, who also discussed with Zardari the results of the third round of the US-Pak Strategic Dialogue here recently, telephoned his Pakistani counterpart days ahead of his maiden India visit. "Both President Obama and President Zardari acknowledged that more work needs to be done to address the direct threat to our countries posed by terrorist groups in Pakistan," the White House said in a statement.  "They also agreed that the US and Pakistan have worked hard to build an atmosphere of trust and cooperation, and are committed to ongoing efforts to build a stronger, strategic and more collaborative US-Pakistan relationship ," the statement said.  Obama emphasized the US commitment and support for democracy and transparency in Pakistan, highlighting that the two countries share an interest in ensuring that democratic traditions in Pakistan are strengthened, the White House said.  "He also acknowledged Pakistan's economic difficulties , and encouraged President Zardari to work to pass key economic reforms, such as tax reform and containing energy subsidies," the statement said. Obama concluded the call by conveying his intention to visit Pakistan in 2011 and personally welcomed Zardari to visit the US in the coming year.  The White House said the phone call was made by Obama to consult Zardari on the progress made during the recent US-Pakistan Strategic Dialogue and to reinforce America's commitment to partner Pakistan on economic , development and governance priorities, the officials said.

At least 272 people were killed and another 412 remain missing after a powerful earthquake triggered a tsunami in western Indonesia, an official said Wednesday. "We've recovered 272 bodies. At least 412 people are still missing," West Sumatra provincial disaster management official Ade Edward said. The death toll in a powerful tsunami off the western coast of Indonesia has increased to 272, with 412 people missing and several villages flooded, regional media said on Wednesday. The tsunami was triggered by an earthquake, measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale, which struck off the coast of western Sumatra. The epicenter was 78 kilometers south of Indonesia's Pagai Selatan Island. "According to the headman of one of the affected villages, the first 5-meter long wave preceded the 30-meter one," Indonesian news web site Detik.com cited the head of the legislative assembly of the Western Sumatra province as saying. Members of a helicopter fly-over mission said waves had swept away several villages on the Indian Ocean coastline and had flooded a significant part of the costal areas. Indonesia is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire, an area of intense seismic activity. A series of powerful quakes hit the country last year, killing over a thousand people and destroying hundreds of buildings.
