THE UK LABOUR PARTY'S STEVEN PURCELL AND COCAINE GANGSTERS

The UK Labour Party's Steven Purcell might have become Scotland's First Minister.

In 2009, Purcell was interviewed by officers from an elite crime squad, in a private meeting in his office at the Glasgow City Chambers. (Police warned Steven Purcell about gangster link - Scotland on Sunday )

Purcell, the former leader of Glasgow City Council, was warned about being linked to Glasgow gansters who were being investigated by police.

Police chiefs told Steven Purcell that he was the target of an underworld cocaine blackmail plot.

Purcell confessed to friends that he had taken cocaine. (Steven Purcell confessed to having cocaine problem after meeting with police)

Purcell, who has now fled Scotland, was warned by the police that they had information about his social links with members of a powerful cocaine baron's network.

Purcell had been identified during surveillance of a Glasgow gangster.

Purcell was said to be too close to a certain drug dealer. (Steven Purcell pals voiced blackmail fears )

According to the Daily Record, John Friel is one of many people linked to crime in Glasgow. (More of Scotland's millionaire crime lords - The Daily Record)

Friel, 58, now has a property empire including shops, restaurants and bars.

Friel was jailed in 1985 after travelling to London to buy cocaine.

McGraw

Glasgow 'crime boss', Tam McGraw owned security companies, taxi firms, pubs, and a property portfolio in Scotland, Ireland and Spain worth 'at least £10m'.

McGraw's empire was said to be worth £30 million in total. (In Scotland it has been estimated that 47% of individuals are earning under £10,000 per year.)

Allegedly, McGraw's main income came from the sale of heroin and cocaine.

It has been claimed that McGraw was backed by corrupt police officers, who passed on confiscated drugs which McGraw then sold on the streets. - (Gangster reign of The Licensee brought to end by heart attack / GANGSTER NO1 IS DEAD')

After one failed robbery, McGraw was arrested while trying to flee on foot.

Charges were dropped and he was released the following morning. (According to the Mail on Sunday, 29 January 2006, only 3% of crimes in Scotland result in convictions.)

One of the McGraw family businesses, the Caravel pub, was suddenly bulldozed after the police learnt that it had played a role in the deaths of Joe "Bananas" Hanlon and Bobby Glover.

The demolition prevented a planned forensic investigation. - An inglorious end to the shadowy life of a feared gangland criminal

Reg McKay, in The Daily Record, 29 August 2005, reported that a street brawl between police left people scrutinising the cosy relationship between the Licensee (McGraw) and 'his police officer pals.'

"One of the Serious Crime Squad grabbed McGraw and tried to take him away from his Scottish Crime Squad captors.

The tug of war was on.

Then one man threw a punch and bedlam broke out with police wrestling, kicking and butting each other as McGraw stood in the middle of the battle totally ignored.

"Locals gathered for the best entertainment they'd had in years. Duelling rozzers. One or two joined in, taking the chance of a free swipe at a copper.

"Eventually peace was restored and the two police outfits went into confab.

Whatever was said, the handcuffs were unlocked and Thomas McGraw walked back to his flat, a free man once again."

The Daily Record wrote: "Local uniforms and CID could often be found sitting in the McGraws' home drinking tea and smoking.

"When McGraw bought The Caravel pub, certain well-known detectives were in regularly, drinking heavily and never putting their hand in their pockets. It was too cosy."

McGraw was a friend of loyalist (Northern Irish protestant) terror chief Johhny 'Mad Dog' Adair. 'Both men were deeply involved in the drug trade between Scotland and Ulster (Northern ireland)' ( McGRAW: PETTY THIEF TO A £30M FORTUNE HOW DRUG-DEALING )

According to the Daily record: "Deals between crime boss Tam McGraw and the IRA saw a unit of republican heavies travel to Glasgow at The Licensee's expense to protect him... (summer of 2002) when hitmen were said to be lining up an assassination attempt." Daily Record - Scottish News - PART TWO OF A DAILY RECORD SPECIAL ...

A rival to McGraw was Arther Thompson. Former 'Glasgow godfather' Thompson reportedly was selling guns to the UVF (Ulster Volunteer Force).

"He got caught, and decided to turn grass for MI5.

They then told him he could pretty much start the drugs trade in Glasgow." - Donal MacIntyre - erutufonnofuture

Rod “Popeye” McLean was 'a ruthless killer and international drug baron'. Reportedly, McLean worked for the British security services - MI5 and MI6. - Ecosse: My killer uncle

Who was McGraw really working for?

Steven Purcell

Steven Purcell spent a recent holiday in Florida helping out the Democrats and Barack Obama. (Who is Steven Purcell? - Scotland on Sunday)

In 2006, Steven Purcell, leader of Glasgow City Council, in Scotland in the UK, announced that he was gay and that he was separating from his wife. (Council leader ...)

Steven Purcell belongs to the Labour Party and is a fan of Gordon Brown.

On 5 March 2010, Purcell fled from Scotland, reportedly heading for the southern hemisphere.

This was just hours after his teenage friend, Danus McKinlay, was found dying outside the City Chambers building.

Danus was close to Purcell.

"Danus worshipped the ground Steven walked on. They were best mates. Danus would do anything for Steven."

Steven Purcell had been trying to sort out the Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT), a government organisation, some of whose officials had run up a £117,573 expenses bill in three years, including £49,195 spent on overseas trips. (All aboard the SPT gravy train - Times Online)

Jack McConnell was Scotland's First Minister and part of Blair's Labour Party.

Jack McConnell's wife, Bridget, is head of the Culture and Leisure Department of Scotland’s biggest local authority.

Reportedly, Jack McConnell's wife's department, and Jack McConnell's party organisation in Glasgow, gave Eddie Lyons, an alleged 'gangster', £1.4m in public funds over 10 years to run a community centre used by children.

Local people asked that Eddie Lyons be sacked as co-ordinator of Chirnsyde Community Initiative in Milton, north Glasgow.

Reportedly the Lyons’s family was involved in a 'war' with another group of alleged 'gangsters'.

At least 11 people have been shot since 2003 as a result of this 'war'.

In December 2006, the community centre was closed when Lyons’s nephew Michael was shot dead and his son Stephen and another man were critically injured.

In 2001 Eddie Lyons, his sons Stephen and Eddie junior, his brother Johnny and a friend called Paul McGuiness were charged with the attempted murder of Thomas McDonnell, who was attacked outside the community centre.

£63,000 was confiscated from Eddie Lyons’s home by police investigating alleged drug dealing.

In 2003, local parents were complaining that the council was forcing them to send their children to after-school fitness classes at Chirnsyde.

Local people 'watched the local hood handed taxpayers money, and official endorsement from Scotland’s first lady'. (Joan McAlpine: This is a nasty stink you cannot just ignore, Jack)

'Drug baron Justin McAlroy was gunned down on his driveway in Glasgow's Cambuslang only six days after wining and dining Labour VIPs Jack McConnell and John Reid at a dinner to raise funds for the party in 2002.' (New evidence casts shadow of doubt over conviction in notorious ...)

'Police have found cannabis resin in the home of the British Defence Secretary, John Reid, but the minister says he has no idea where it came from.'

'GRIM-FACED Defence Secretary John Reid shared centre stage at his son's wedding yesterday - with a villain wanted by police. Tony Blair's most trusted minister and fugitive Ronnie Campbell - the father of the bride - stood side by side on the steps of Westminster Cathedral.

'The Sunday Mail can reveal a warrant was issued for the arrest of Campbell, 47, on Monday after a violent incident involving a woman.

'Campbell, who sported a gold cravat and kilt, was the target of a recent gangland hit.' (aangirfan: John Reid, UK Home Secretary, MP for Airdrie and Shotts)

"The Labour Party in Scotland has had an effective majority for decades through its control of the local authorities.

"During this time it has spawned a distinct social layer who control billions of pounds in revenue, awarding building and planning contracts, administering services...

"The Scotsman newspaper ran several articles on Ferguslie Park Community Business Holdings (FCBH), in Paisley.

"This scheme, established in the 1980s in the working class area of Ferguslie Park, was supposedly aimed at building 'community' businesses as a means of tackling unemployment.

"The Scotsman reported that at least part of the FCBH ...had fallen under the control of Paisley's drug gangs and was being used to launder money.

"Glasgow's Lord Provost, Patrick Lally, only recently successfully prevented Labour's attempt to expel him from office following allegations of corruption.

"Also in Glasgow, millionaire Labour MP, Mohammed Sarwar, has been suspended and faces legal action for allegedly attempting to bribe political opponents."

Moira Anderson.

11-year-old Moira Anderson was last seen boarding a bus in Coatbridge, near Glasgow, Scotland, in 1957.

She was on her way to the shops to buy a box of chocolates for her mum’s birthday.

According to The Sunday Times (Pressure on police to release paedophile dossier), 23 April 2006, Strathclyde Police have a dossier listing members of a child-abuse ring.

This dossier may identify the people who kidnapped Moira.

The dossier is said to implicate senior public figures, including senior police officers and members of the Crown Office and former Scottish Office.

These public figures are said to have abused children in Strathclyde (the Glasgow area) during the 1950s and 1960s.

The dossier is said to list vehicles and safe houses used in Glasgow, Monklands and Paisley where children were hidden before being taken to sex parties.

Strathclyde police have decided not to release the dossier.

The dossier was written by James Gallogley, a convicted child-abuser who died in Peterhead prison in 1999.
