CONNING THE MIDDLE-INCOME PEOPLE

To win an election, you have to con the 'middle-income' people.

In the USA, in recent decades, middle-income people have not got any richer.

(Class and politics: The misinterpreted middle The Economist)

There has been a loss of middle income jobs to countries such as China and India.

In the UK, middle-income people have seen few gains.

By 'middle-income' we mean that half the population who might be lower-end white-collar workers or skilled manual workers.

These are the people who do most of the work.

We do not mean the well off doctors, lawyers and businessmen who can afford to send their children to private schools. 7% of British schoolchildren are educated privately.

The UK Labour Party's Gordon Brown and a 'freemason handshake'.

Research by the UK's Department for Work and Pensions (The Economist) found that in the financial year 2006-07:

1. 6% of middle income households could not afford to send their children swimming once a month.

2. 9% had too few bedrooms to be able to put over-tens of the opposite sex in separate bedrooms.

3. Almost a quarter could not afford a week's family holiday away from home.

To win over the middle-income voters a political party has to press the right buttons.

For example, George W. Bush promised not to get the U.S. military involved in military adventures.

He then went to war.

Tony Blair's Labour Party promised sound financial policies.

The £6 billion deficit Blair inherited in 1997 has now become a £167 deficit.

Some people might suggest that people like Bush, Obama, Harper, Blair, Brown and Cameron secretly favour the rich elite and secretly favour the sort of police state that will keep the rich elite in power.

Who will win the coming general election in the UK?

We certainly hope that it will NOT be Gordon Brown's Labour party.

Labour is the party of war, poverty, the police state and corruption.

The latest ICM poll shows the UK Conservative Party at 38%. (The Guardian)

Labour 29%.

Liberal Democrats 23%.

People in Scotland have the opportunity to vote for the Scottish National Party, which opposed the wars in Yugoslavia, Iraq and Afghanistan. The SNP wants to scrap Trident and ID cards.

In England there is the Green Party, which is supposed to be peaceful; and there are the Liberal Democrats who opposed the Iraq War but who support the Afghanistan War.

Wales has a moderate nationalist party.

And the UK Conservative Party has A HERO - DAVID DAVIS

The Conservatives have talked of cutting the number of government workers. (David Cameron - £12bn cuts)

The problem for the UK Conservative Party's leader David Cameron, is that he "epitomises British elites: he understands his high-earning peers and feels a genuine noblesse oblige towards the poor, but the people in between seem somehow beyond his ken." (Class and politics: The misinterpreted middle The Economist)

New Labour: BLAIR, JOWELL, MILLS, BERLUSCONI, THE MAFIA
PURCELL, Stefan King, James Mortimer, Brian Dempse...
WHAT LINKS BUSH, BLAIR, SUHARTO AND MOBUTU?
BLAIR AT THE IRAQ INQUIRY
HAS LABOUR HELPED THE POOR?
VOTE LABOUR FOR WAR AND POVERTY
