(Porn career? It won’t worry my colleagues. / Order, let the honourable mistress of porn speak )

Anna Arrowsmith, 38, is the Liberal Democrat party candidate for Gravesham in Kent in the UK.

Anna Arrowsmith has made hundreds of hardcore porn films.

She is the managing director of Easy on the Eye Productions.

'Be My Toyboy' was 'shot in the front room'.

Other productions include "Eat Me - Keep Me", "Where's the Rent, Boys", "Their Pants Down!" and "The Scottish Gigolo".

Arrowsmith admired Margaret Thatcher.

Arrowsmith's father is the Thatcherite Sir Clive Thompson who is married to Judith Howard.

Anna notes that the recent Members of Parliament expenses scandal began when a cabinet minister's household received some porn.

Nick Clegg, the Liberal Democrat party leader, said "I think it’s really important that people like her who really care a lot about her local area are encouraged to come into politics."

Meanwhile, the late Lord Feversham's son, Jasper Duncombe, runs two pornography companies, Tongue in Cheek and Relish XXX.

"A recent venture involved installing porn vending machines in pub lavatories."

Christopher Hitchens has Jewish roots. (BBC - BBC Four Profile - Christopher Hitchens)

Peter Hitchens, brother of Christopher Hitchens, blames Britain's troubles on "sixties liberals."

The Sunday Times has been giving us extracts from Christopher Hitchens' 'Hitch-22: A Memoir'
(Double life of pretty Christopher Hitchens)

As a boy, Hitchens attended a British private boarding school.

Hitchens quotes Lytton Strachey who summarised the boarding-school 'very aptly':

How odd the fate of pretty boys!

Who, if they dare to taste the joys

That so enchanted Classic minds,

Get whipped upon their neat behinds.

Yet should they fail to construe well

The lines that of those raptures tell It’s very odd, you must confess -

Their neat behinds get whipped no less.

Hitchens writes: "To even the dullest lad, it would sometimes occur to think that self-abuse might be better relished in company.

"It was quite possible to arrange a vigorous session of mutual relief without a word being spoken.

"It's very important to understand that 90% of these enthusiastic participants would have punched you in the throat if you suggested there was anything homosexual about what they were doing."

Hitchens did not lack for partners.

There was Guy, 'a sort of strawberry blond, with a wicked smile'.

Poems were exchanged. There were kisses. There was some fondling.

They got caught.

They were forbidden to speak to each other.

Hitchens writes: "I always take it for granted that sexual moralising by public figures is a sign of hypocrisy or worse, and most usually a desire to perform the very act that is most being condemned.

"This is why, whenever I hear some bigmouth in Washington or the Christian heartland banging on about the evils of sodomy or whatever, I mentally enter his name in my notebook and contentedly set my watch.

"Sooner rather than later he will be discovered down on his knees in some dreary motel or latrine, with an expired Visa card, having tried to pay well over the odds to be peed upon by some Apache transvestite."

Hitchens moved on to university.

He meets a number of young men, including the late David Levy, a 'proto-fascist' and fan of the beauties of Franco's Spain.

According to Hitchens "there was a good deal of camp among these young men, and a certain amount of active bisexuality."

Hitchens had relationships with two young men who became members of Margaret Thatcher’s government.

Hitch-22: A Memoir, by Christopher Hitchens, is to be published by Atlantic Books on June 1 at £20. Copies can be ordered for £18, including postage, from The Sunday Times BooksFirst on 0845 271 2135
